This Saturday libraries around the country will be playing host to read-ins, author appearances and story-telling events to protest against the threatened closure of 400 branches.
In Leeds, the council is currently consulting on proposals to 'modernise' the library service - but possibly close up to 20 library buildings across the city.
The Guardian has launched a national map of protests against library closures for Save Our Libaries Day. The map allows readers to find your nearest protest - but so far there doesn't seem to be any for Leeds.
