Bookmarked: Papergirl Cardiff

A new art project which distributes pieces of original artwork to unexpected pedestrians by bike is coming to Cardiff.

Papergirl originated in Berlin and is inviting submissions of artwork from the public. Following a gallery exhibition, artists' work is given to baffled bystanders across the city through an en masse bicycle drop off – the cyclist hands out the rolled up artwork while on the move.

Submissions of artwork are now being called in for Cardiff – with Cardiff Cycle Couriers confirmed as a new drop off point for Cardiff (based above the Bike Shed on Cathedral Road).

The deadline for submissions is Friday 27 May – the website says:

"Anything can be submitted: drawings, paintings, posters, zines, writings, textiles, prints, photos etc. The only requirement is that the art be flexible enough to be rolled up. All submissions will be used!

"In short, Papergirl is: participatory, analogue, non-commercial and impulsive."

The project will run from 11-18 June in the city as part of Cardiff Cycle Festival and the socially motivated design collective ThinkARK will also be getting involved.
