Bookmarked: My Whitchurch - Cardiff north website needs your help

my whitchurch
My Whitchurch is run by Matthew Lock

Cardiff north news website My Whitchurch has announced its new look along with a call for help to keep it going.

The community website, started in 2005 by Matthew Lock, won the Best Community website award at the 2010 Wales Blog Awards and covers local pact meetings, local news, events and provides useful information.

But the website owners is now putting out a call to volunteers for help from local bloggers, students and residents. He writes:

"It's an unfortunate truth but I don't have the time to give this site the attention it needs and like the old saying goes, many hands make light work. So I am looking for volunteers to help me out with whatever they can, as much or as little as they can. Which means any photos, news items, announcements or anything else that might be relevant to the other residents of Cardiff North – I want it.

"I'm also looking for some hands-on help. Just one or two people who can help type up a few stories or keep the twitter and Facebook accounts up to date. This is probably suited to a 6th former or high school pupil or one of the many tech-savvy retired folks we have in the area.

"If you can help at all then please get in touch."

The website has also undergone a makeover – and Matt writes there will soon be some hyperlocal features on the site as well as news about local shops.

If you think you can help out Matt with running the site on contributing content, email him news@mywhitchurch.co.uk.
