Bookmarked: Lumiere debate continues at Leeds Guide

What next for the Lumiere site off Wellington Street?

Remember the recent debate over the future of the now abandoned Lumiere project off Wellington Street?

There was an interesting debate, which started on Twitter, as to what the land - which was due to house the twin Lumiere towers, the planned largest residential development in Europe until the firm behind it went into administration - should be used for.

Ideas included parkland, an arts space, sports use - even a drive-in cinema to name but a few.

Leeds Liberal Democrat councillor Martin Hamilton even backed calls for the site to be put into temporary community use.

Now, over at Leeds Guide, the intrepid Annie Moss has been talking to Leeds residents to find out what they would like to see happen to the abandoned site. Check out her post Leeds Eye View: Lumiere.
