Bookmarked: Lisvane News website

A new hyperlocal community news website for residents in Lisvane has been created as part of an online journalism project.

Lisvane News launched today by journalism student Andrew Collins, who is currently taking the MA course in multiplatform journalism at the University of Glamorgan.

Although the site has been set up as part of his course studies, Andrew said he hoped it would become a useful resource for the local community. He said:

"I think it has the potential to be a very useful site for Lisvane.

"Currently the only local news resource is the Lisvane Link, which is a print magazine that comes out once a month. And besides the odd bit of news on the Lisvane Community Council website, there isn't a dedicated online resource for news and information for the area."

The first post on the site reports on how a local dance troupe are using social media to gain more support. We look forward to reading more! See the site here and follow on Twitter @LisvaneNews.
