Keeping the city centre shopping/retail theme going on today's blog with three updates...
City centre community shop
Remember the recent public meeting to discuss local residents setting up a city centre shop to replace Simpsons, which closed recently?
Meeting organiser Rob Greenland posts about the latest developments - and his after-thoughts - on his The Social Business blog.
Art in Unusual Spaces
The former TK Maxx space, on the fourth floor of Leeds Shopping Plaza, will be taken over by community arts organisation Art in Unusual Spaces on Thursday.
The one night only event called The Man Who Saved The World - will comprise a ten-screen circular arrangement of appropriated science fiction video projections and Hollywood knock-offs by Eoin Shea, and featuring sound-tracking throughout the night by Home of the Brave and their unique jazz inflected renditions of classic Western theme tunes.
Leeds Loves Shopping
Journalists, bloggers and VIPs jumped aboard the Leeds Sightseeing bus on Friday for a special Leeds Loves Shopping tour around shopping hotspots including the Corn Exchange, Victoria Quarter and Kirkgate Market.
