Bookmakers react to Leeds United's transfer deadline day as new signings bring about flurry of bets

The summer transfer window is shut, with Leeds United enjoying a positive deadline day.

Kalvin Phillips remains a Leeds United player after the Whites held off Premier League interest from Aston Villa to keep their star asset at Elland Road for another year, meaning deadline day was all about Eddie Nketiah , who joined United on a season-long loan deal from Arsenal.

Victor Orta's late plea swayed the youngster to sign on the dotted line at Elland Road, leaving Bristol City, Swansea City and Dussledorf in their wake.

He will bolster Marcelo Bielsa's options in attack, with Patrick Bamford Leeds' only fit, senior striker at Bristol City last weekend.

After a productive window that saw six players arrive at Elland Road, United are primed for another promotion push this season.

With the transfer window shut, here are the latest promotion odds with the bookmakers.

Leeds United - Evens

Whether it’s by winning the league or going up through the play-offs, Leeds United are favourites for both outcomes.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League last season, but after some improvements in the window and a slight squad reshuffle, it seems the bookies fancy them to make the push again.

Fulham - 21/10

After a failed bid back in the top flight, and not due to lack of investment, Fulham are back in the Championship - but that doesn’t mean they’re going to lie down.

Just like season, the Cottagers wasted no time in preparing for the new campaign - bolstering their squad in preparation to try and bounce back to the big time.

Unfortunately, they’ll be without star left-back Ryan Sessegnon, who signed for Spurs.

West Brom - 5/2

With an outside chance at promotion, West Brom will apparently enter the fray once more for contention as they look to secure their place back in the Premier League.

The Baggies narrowly missed out last season, stumbling to defeat at the hands of Birmingham rivals Aston Villa who went up in their stead.

Cardiff - 16/5

In preparation for Neil Warnock’s last ever season as a manager, Cardiff have also strengthened their side for an immediate push for promotion.

The Bluebirds are dark horses to climb back up the top flight, with Warnock’s record of helping sides up the Football League leader being a real positive.
