Bookmakers offer Championship prediction - good news for West Bromwich Albion and Middlesbrough, bad news for Bristol City and Nottingham Forest

Bristol City have just a 23.1 per cent chance of making the play-offs, according to new figures released by bookmakers.

Betting aggregator Oddschecker have crunched the numbers and found that bookmakers rate the chances of the Robins making the top six at 10/3.

The Robins have also been given odds of 16/1 to go up, which equates to just a 5.9 per cent chance of playing in the Premier League next season.

Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “Lee Johnson has even referred to himself as 'streaky' and after such an incredible winning run, he now needs to find a way to stop the recent rot.

Bristol City came close to signing Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi in the summer admits Lee Johnson  

"No need for panic though' bookies still think that a top 6 finish could be on the cards if they can get back to winning ways soon."

West Brom - 1/100 

Middlesbrough - 4/9

Aston Villa - 5/4

Derby - 3/1 

Bristol City - 10/3

Preston - 7/2

Nottingham Forrest - 14/1
