Leeds United squandered the chance to maintain top spot in the Championship after they were held to a 3-3 draw by Cardiff City at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.
The Whites, who face Fulham at Craven Cottage next weekend, looked on course to post an eighth successive Championship success when Patrick Bamford's second-half penalty put Leeds three goals to the good just seven minutes after the half-time break.
Despite seemingly being in complete control, Leeds were left stunned by a dramatic Cardiff comeback. The Bluebirds, who had to finish the game with 10 men following Sean Morrison's dismissal, scored three times in the final 30 minutes to salvage an unlikely point.
Had Leeds held on to register another impressive victory, it would have kept them top of the Championship table on goal difference, marginally ahead of West Bromwich Albion, who had beaten arch rivals Birmingham City 3-2 earlier in the day.
With both Leeds and the Baggies once more avoiding defeat, they continue to be the favourites with the bookies to lead the promotion charge this season.
