Bookies slash odds on Maura Higgins replacing The Jeremy Kyle Show slot on ITV

A bookmaker is offering just 5/1 odds for Maura Higgins to replace Jeremy Kyle on ITV.

The Love Island star is being tipped to replace the slot recently vacated by The Jeremy Kyle Show.

The popular Longford woman has been a hit on the reality TV series.

And her likability may see her land a daytime TV role, filling in for Kyle's show which was booted off air in the wake of the tragic death of a guest earlier this year.

BoyleSports spokeswoman Sarah Kinsella said: "Shane Lowry is not the only Irish person making the headlines as Longford model Maura Higgins has been in the spotlight since entering the Love Island villa and it’s a 5/1 chance that she will become a daytime TV hit with ITV."

Other specials from the bookmaker includes 7/1 odds that she'll be voted top female in the villa, 6/4 she'll appear on Dancing with the Stars and 20/1 she'll wear on Longford jersey on Love Island.

She added: "It’s 6/4 that will be a contestant on Dancing with the Stars and 20/1 for her to wear her Longford GAA jersey in the villa."

The betting company has Maura and Curtis Pritchard as the third favourite couple to win the €55,000 prize, behind Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague, and Ovie Soko and India Reynolds.
