Bookies slash odds on Kalvin Phillips winning an England call-up for Euro 2020

The odds of Kalvin Phillips getting a call up for the England squad for Euro 2020 have been slashed after Gareth Southgate was spotted at Elland Road on Saturday.

Back in November, the odds of Phillips playing for England in the tournament were 20/1 but now SkyBet is offering odds of 9/1, putting Phillips ahead of Manchester United's Jesse Lingard, who already has 24 England caps, on the list. Phillips also finds himself ahead of the likes of Adam Lallana, Jared Bowen and Jack Wilshere.

Another Whites player who has seen their odds of an England call up dramatically decrease is Ben White. White was given odds of 50/1 back in November but the latest figures show this has halved to 25/1.

The odds also include two players who have recently departed Elland Road. Jack Clarke, who returned to Tottenham over Christmas, and Eddie Nketiah who is back at Arsenal, both show up with odds of 40/1 to be handed their England debut by Southgate this summer.

Two of Leeds United's reported targets for the January transfer window, Southampton's Che Adams and Sheffield United's Billy Sharp, also both appear on the list at 80/1.

England have two friendly matches this spring ahead of the tournament as they take on Italy and Denmark on March  27 and 31 respectively. They take on Australia and Romania at the start of June ahead of their first game of the tournament against Croatia on June 14.
