Bookies have slashed the odds of a White Easter from 25/1 down to 5/1 as chilly conditions take hold of Ireland.
After recent mild temperatures, Ireland is shivering once again with a snow-ice warning in place for five counties (Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Wicklow and Mayo) tonight and tomorrow and wintry showers forecast.
Just a month ago, BoyleSports were offering odds of 25/1 of snow at Easter however, as temperatures plunged, so did the odds.
BoyleSports slashed the chances of snowfall on Easter Sunday from 10/1 to 5/1 after flurry of bets from eager punters ready to bet their cold hard cash.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “The clocks may have sprung forward but the mercury is falling back and the odds of snow are plummeting just as fast this week.
"A snowy Easter Sunday isn’t traditionally popular in our weather markets and that’s why we had it out at 25/1 just weeks ago, but it’s becoming just as popular a bet as a white Christmas over the past couple of years and the odds are continuing to melt away.”
Meanwhile, weather experts are expecting "wintry showers" to lead to possible snow accumulations and icy conditions tonight.

Sub-zero conditions are expected with temperatures set to hit lows of -1C overnight.
And the bitterly cold weather will continue on Wednesday, with further freezing temperatures overnight.
A forecaster said: "Frost and ice will clear on Wednesday morning to leave a bright and blustery day with sunny spells and scattered showers of rain or hail."
