Bookies reveal odds for new Swansea City manager with one clear favourite emerging

Swansea City are searching for a new manager after Steve Cooper's decision to step away from the post.

Cooper led the Welsh side to back-to-back Championship play-offs, losing in the semi-finals in 2019-20 before a Wembley defeat the year after.

After the news was announced he told Swansea's website: "I am very proud of what we have achieved over the past two seasons, especially getting to the play-off final, but it feels like a good time for all parties to make a change."

It is thought a disagreement over the club's direction was the catalyst for his exit.

Attentions now turn to who will replace the 41-year-old.

And there is one clear favourite with the bookmakers.

John Eustace, the QPR assistant boss, is among the early front-runners.

Eustace, a former Watford and Stoke midfielder, began his managerial career at Kidderminster in 2016.

He spent two years in charge at the National League North side before joining QPR as assistant to Steve McClaren.

Skybet have chalked his odds of landing the Swansea role up at 1/6.

The next on the list is Cameron Toshack - the son of ex-Swansea and Wales boss John - at 7/1.

Toshack junior is a former Swans coach at youth and under-23 level. His last job saw him coaching out in Cyprus.

Other names on the list include MK Dons' boss Russell Martin and Alex Neil.

Skybet odds for next Swansea boss

John Eustace 1/6

Cameron Toshack 7/1

Russell Martin 9/1

Alan Tate 11/1

Eidur Gudjohnsen 11/1

Alex Neil 12/1

Andy Scott 12/1

Chris Wilder 12/1

Michael Flynn 14/1

Angel Rangel 16/1
