Bookies are preparing for a very busy week as horse racing returns in England.
Newcastle hosts the first British meeting since St Patrick's Day on Monday, with ten races taking place.
In what would typically be a normal Monday afternoon of racing, Ladbrokes are expecting a boost in the volume of bets placed, as the sport punters have missed so much returns to our screens.
The biggest draw of the week will come a few days later though as Group One action, including the 2,000 and 1,000 Guineas, is set to grip the racing public from Friday through to Sunday.
With 21 races over three days on terrestrial TV, bookies are expecting plenty of business over the weekend.
With betting shops still closed in Ireland and the UK, punters will have to place bets online or over the phone.
Nicola McGeady, Head of Ladbrokes PR, said: “We are thrilled to have British racing back on our screens from Monday. Although the international racing has filled a void during the long break, there is no doubt that the return of local racing will be a huge draw for our punters.
"We are expecting a busier than normal Monday with a mammoth card set to take place at Newcastle, while the biggest draw will come at the weekend as ITV Racing stage three fantastic days of top class action.”
