'Book the sun' - Rangers fans react as Nice friendly leaves viewers blinded by the light

There's something magical about football in the sunshine - not that we experience much of that in the Scottish Premiership.

But while the Rangers players may have enjoyed getting the chance to strut their stuff against Nice on a sun-bathed pitch, it wasn't quite as nice for the viewers at home.

Captain James Tavernier was posted missing for much of the first half, if only because his side of the pitch was obscured by glare.

Anyone tuning in to see Steven Gerrard 's side might have been disappointed, with the light meaning only eight or nine were visible at a time.

The sun did eventually make its way off the pitch, but not before a number of unhappy fans had their say on Twitter.

@rangersspares_: Barisic will need to put a full bottle of factor 50 on at half time if he’s still on and the sun is still down that side

@reecej2001x: Book the sun

@johncoo44871902: are we getting to see the full pitch before sunset in rangers game?

@legendsofibrox: Need your sun glasses to watch premier sports.

@ScottS1872: That sun is brutal man, cannae see a f*****g thing on that side of the pitch

@ibroxrocks: The far side of the pitch is what I imagine Heaven looks like

@J_munro98: It’s like when your playing a game and haven’t unlocked that section of the map yet

@karma_polis: Like the inside of Marsellus Wallace's briefcase.
