Book Day in Crosby attracts over 600 children

MORE than 600 school children took part in a World Book Day celebration.

The event, at Crosby Civic Hall, saw authors Anna Wilson and Lizzie Finlay entertain children in years one to four, from across Sefton.

Lesley Davies, from Sefton Libraries, said: “Anna delighted over 500 children with hilarious tales of her pets which have been incorporated into her Animal Tales series.

“She even had children dressed in beards to illustrate how she tried to 'de-sensitise' her dog who was afraid of men with beards!

“Lizzie also entertained around 100 pupils by acting out scenes and drawing characters from her books Dandylion and Little Croc's Purse.”
