Book Club with Robert Macfarlane

Tuesday 29 July
7pm, Hall Two, Kings Place, 90 York Way, London N1 9AG
Tickets: £9.50/£11.50

In The Old Ways Robert Macfarlane follows the ancient tracks, drove roads and sea paths that criss-cross the British landscape. He makes a series of journeys from northwest Scotland to southeast England and beyond to Spain, Palestine and the Himalayas. Exploring the ghost and voices that haunt our ancient paths, the book combines cartography, literature and geography to examine the ways in which we are shaped by our landscapes.

The Old Ways is the third in a trilogy of books about landscape, and was shortlisted for the Samuel Johnson Prize in 2012. It follows Mountains of the Mind, which won the 2003 Guardian First Book Award, and The Wild Places.
