Boohoo customer's horror as £24 jumpsuit makes her look like 'melted disco ball'

A young woman says she was left horrified when she tried on a Boohoo jumpsuit and looked like a "melted glitter ball with extra long legs".

Olivia Burroughs fell in love with the £24 outfit when she found it on Black Friday while looking for something to wear to a friend's Christmas party.

A glamorous image on Boohoo's website shows a model wearing the glittery jumpsuit.

But when the plus-sized item arrived at her home in Nottinghamshire, telecommunications worker Olivia tried it on and was left shocked and angry at what she saw, saying it differed completely from the photograph online.

Trying on the outfit, Olivia was even more horrified and claimed she looked like a "melted glitter ball with extra long legs".

Olivia claims she had no time to find a new outfit, so she decided to miss the Christmas party and stay at home.

She said: "I wanted an outfit for my friend's Christmas party so decided to do my shopping on Black Friday to find a deal, and I did on boohoo.

"The jumpsuit was £24, but when it arrived I was shocked by what I saw.

"It was completely different to the photo on the website and left me looking like a melted glitter ball with extra long legs.

"I couldn't believe the difference to the photo online, it was a real expectation vs reality of online shopping moment.

"I immediately kicked off and decided I wasn't going to the party because of how my outfit looked - and it was too late for me to order anything else.

"It's really put me off of ordering from boohoo because their sizes just aren't right.

"I returned the item immediately and now I'm waiting for a refund."

Boohoo has been contacted for comment.

Olivia told her story during the busy Christmas shopping period.

It is estimated that 40million Britons will buy gifts over the internet this Christmas.

MAURA BOOHOO COLLECTION LAUNCHES

This isn't the first time Boohoo customers have had a moment where expectation vs reality don't quite match up.

In October, a woman from Essex was planning her Halloween costume and ordered a £20 pair of black vinyl trousers to complete her look.

But when she tried them on she felt like she was wearing a roll of "f***ing cellotape".

Another customer claimed she discovered a soiled Primark thong in her Boohoo order.

She said she was "on the verge of tears" after making the "disgusting" discovery.

ASOS shoppers, meanwhile, were left baffled by a £65 chain skirt that hugs the body but shows off plenty of skin around the buttocks and bikini line.

And Amazon users were puzzled after a woman posted a review of a dress which included a photo of her posing next to her dad's coffin at his funeral.
