Boohoo co-founder Carol Kane joins social publishing group's board ahead of planned IPO

A co-founder of fast fashion giant Boohoo has joined the board of Manchester-based social publishing group LadBible ahead of its planned IPO.

Carol Kane has become a non-executive director at the group, according to newly-filed documents.

The move comes after her fellow Boohoo co-founder Mahmud Kamani stepped down from the board recently.

The group's parent company, LBG Media, was co-founded in 2012 by chief executive Alexander (Solly) Solomou and chief operating officer Arian Kalantari while studying at university.

David Wilson serves as the group's non-executive chairman while Tim Croston is its chief financial officer.

Alexandra Jarvis is also a non-executive director, alongside Carol Kane.

The group's brands also include SPORTbible, Tyla, GAMINGbible and UNILAD and it has offices in London, Dublin, Melbourne and Sydney.

Documents filed with Companies House for its financial year to the end of December 2020 show its revenue increased slightly from £29m to £30.1m while its pre-tax profits rose from £2.1m to £4.1m.

Zeus Capital is advising on the deal.

According to Sky News, Mr Solomou is to sell part of his stake, which would be valued at about £200m if the initial public offering is successful.
