Booger McFarland raved about Zac Taylor late in a blowout loss and nobody knew why

ESPN’s Booger McFarland spent good parts of the fourth quarter of Monday night’s Bengals-Steelers game raving about Bengals first-year coach Zac Taylor and the energy he has brought to the team and franchise since coming over from the Rams in the offseason.

Oh, and most of that happened while the Bengals were down by more than 20 points in what turned out to be a 27-3 loss that dropped them to 0-4 on the season.

So, yeah, all the praise Booger paid to Taylor seemed to be a bit odd. Andy Dalton was awful Monday night, the Bengals offense – Taylor’s supposed to be an offensive mastermind – scored just three points, and they never really put up a fight in Pittsburgh.

They. Were. Terrible.

Booger, nonetheless, kept talking about the energy that Taylor had brought to the team (and the East Coast) and how he loved what he was doing in Cincinnati, which made no sense:
