Booby-trapped sausage laced with pills sparks warning to dog owners

Dog owners have been warned after a sausage laced with pills was discovered on a street.

The find was made on Wednesday, January 12 around 9pm in the Bishopbriggs/Auchinairn area, next to Strathkelvin Avenue off Auchinairn Road by a local dog walker.

It appears the sick culprit who left the sausage cut it open and stuffed it with the pills, before using cocktail sticks to hold it together.

A post on Facebook group Bishopbriggs notice board has warned dog owners in the G64 postcode area to keep their eyes peeled and dogs on a leash in case more items have been left in the local area.

The dog walker who discovered the booby-trapped sausage removed it from the street and disposed of it safely.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
