Bono's son's band Inhaler deliver promising performance at Nottingham's Rescue Rooms - review

They've supported the likes of Noel Gallagher and their lead singer is the son of one of the world's most famous frontmen.

Dublin indie quartet Inhaler were formed by four friends in a band at school who bonded over a love of similar groups, including the Stone Roses and Joy Division.

Singer Elijah Hewson happens to be the son of Bono who, as one would expect, looks and sounds much like his old man.

The band say they've written songs about being young and finding their way in life.

With just handful of singles to their name, their tracks have been streamed millions of times.

Their sold-out set at the Rescue Rooms is promising; it's attracted eager teens at the front of similar age to the band and a more reserved, middle-aged gathering at the back, perhaps drawn to the Hewson family name.

Although the performance is raw - understandable for a group starting out - they have some strong material.

Ice Cream Sundae, My Honest Face and latest single We Have To Move On are without doubt the standouts.

Hewson's vocals on the latter properly draw comparisons to the U2 frontman.

A slot on the bill supporting Kasabian at their hometown show at Leicester’s Victoria Park in the summer awaits Inhlaer, who have also toured with Blossoms.

Watch the name.
