Bono's son Eli Hewson 'set to sign deal' with major international record label

Bono's son Elijah Hewson is set to sign a record deal with a major international record label, it has been reported.

Eli's band Inhaler looks likely to sign with British-based company Polydor Records, the same group as his dad's band U2.

A source told the Irish Sun: "Polydor want to sign Inhaler before their tour starts because they think their price will go through the roof if they get any more popular, and they’ll have to fight it out with other rival labels to get them.

“If Inhaler turn into a really big band, there could be some jockeying for position as U2 and Inhaler are both Irish bands based here.”

The 19-year-old has been adamant that he won't rely on his dad's support in the business, and it has been reported that Bono stayed far away from this deal.

When questioned if he would ask his dad if Inhaler could support U2 at their 3Arena gigs, Eli told the Irish Mirror last year: “I don’t think he’d let me, even if we wanted to.

"We haven’t really been going down that road at all. He knows we have to do it on our own and we know.

“He knows what makes a great band is the struggle and the effort, so he’s happy to see us go and do small gigs.”
