Bono posts coronavirus song as 'a little postcard from bubblin Dublin'

Bono posted a new song about the COVID-19 outbreak to his followers on Instagram on St Patrick’s Day.

The world famous U2 frontman said he had written the song “about an hour ago” before he put it online, describing it as “A little postcard from bubblin Dublin.”

The piano ballad was named “Let Your Love Be Known”, with lyrics describing Dublin dealing with the coronavirus.

The song was made in honour of coronavirus victims, with the video post saying: “For the Italians who inspired it… for the Irish… for ANYONE who this St. Patrick’s day is in a tight spot and still singing. For the doctors, nurses, carers on the front line, it's you we’re singing to.”

The lyrics paint a picture of a socially distant St Patrick’s Day: “Yes there was silence, yes there was no people here. Yes I walked through the streets of Dublin and no one was near.”

The video has been viewed by nearly half a million people since it was posted yesterday, with many positive comments from Bono’s followers.
