Bono guitar to strum up charity cash as green Gretsch Irish Falcon could sell to the tune of €8,000 at auction

A guitar belonging to Bono could sell to the tune of €8,000 at auction.

It is being sold along-side a host of instruments formerly owned by famous musicians including Tom Petty and George Harrison.

The U2 frontman’s axe is a green Gretsch Irish Falcon Model with two electric pickups and “The Goal is Soul” emblazoned on the pickguard.

It has a guide price of between €6,560 and €8,265.

Julian’s Auctions in Los Angeles said all proceeds will go to the Gretsch Family Foundation.

The firm shared a message of support to acts who are struggling to work during the pandemic.

It said: “Be well, be safe, be blessed, be musical in 2021 and beyond.”
