A 50-year-old motorcyclist has lost his licence after he was allegedly caught speeding on Horse Park Drive in north Canberra.
The Bonner man was pulled over in Harrison about 11.20am on Thursday, July 23, days after a weekend blitz spotlighted motorists caught travelling at "ridiculous" speeds across the city.
ACT police officers patrolling the area allege the rider was travelling at 131 kmh along the 80 kmh road.
The man, whose licence has been suspended for six months, was fined $1891 and received six demerit points.
"ACT Policing reminds all motorists that excessive speed is one of the major contributors to serious and fatal collisions on ACT roads," a police statement on Friday, July 24, said.
"Police will continue to target dangerous driving behaviour anywhere, anytime across Canberra."
