Bongo's Bingo brings Newcastle a candy-cane special featuring frothing chocolate fountains and scented bubbles

Sweet treats, chocolate rivers and fulfilment of cotton candy dreams are being promised with the return of Bongo's Bingo in Newcastle this Easter.

The phenomenon that has turned on its head the concept of a night out at the bingo will be back at is regular city centre haunt with a Micky Pickles and the Chocolate Factory show.

Running at the Boiler Shop throughout the Easter weekend, the show - whose regular twists keep things interesting for regulars - will be celebrating round two of a theme which made its debut last year.

And this time around the Chocolate Factory will be sweetening up its audience with hand-outs of candy canes and old-school sweets on top of the usual mayhem, games, entertainment and popular Bongo's dancers.

During the show, scented bubbles will be drifting through the air while smooth chocolate flows from on-stage fountains and organisers are even promising an Oompa Loompa from Loompaland.

In keeping with the time of year, there will be Easter-inspired cut-outs too.

Tickets for the candy-caned specials, which will run from April 9-12, are now available on the Bongo’s Bingo app and will go on sale online this Thursday evening.

Bongo's Bingo best bits caught on camera in Newcastle

Bongo's Bingo is always a hit in Newcastle and while it tends to be a fast sell-out with fans who never miss a party, any newcomers to the award-winning night out can expect a mix of the bizarre and the hilarious as host Micky will lead players on an adventure into a fabled realm dripping with sweets.

And, as usual, the dance routines are set to be a highought.

The unique Bongo's Bingo concept has also translated well abroad with last year including weekly party shows in Ibiza as well several tours of Australia.

Those wanting tickets to the Newcastle show are advised to act fast. They are set to go on sale online at 6pm this February 20. See here.
