Bongani Zungu 'closes in' on Rangers transfer as club in talks to sign £3.8m Amiens midfielder

Rangers are 'closing' in on a deal for Amiens midfielder Bongani Zungu.

The South African international is available for £3.8million after the French side were relegated.

The Scotsman claims Rangers are in advanced talks to sign the 27-year-old and are on the verge of making him the club's fourth signing of the summer.

Zungu's agent Alexis Ramalingam confirmed his client was in talks with a host of clubs and is likely to leave France this summer.

But he wouldn't reveal who the interested parties were.

He said: “There’s a big possibility that he leaves France this summer but we can’t comment about any clubs for now in order to respect the clubs we are in talks with.

“There’s interest in Ligue 1 and in other parts of Europe but I just can’t reveal where for now.”

Steven Gerrard has already acquired Ianis Hagi, Calvin Bassey and Jon McLaughlin ahead of the new Premiership season which kicks off on August 1.
