Bonfires and fireworks displays in Trafford in 2021

Bonfire Night is right around the corner with plenty of bonfire and firework displays happening across Greater Manchester.

In Trafford, many clubs and parks will be hosting their own annual Bonfire Night display for the public to enjoy.

This is done in commemoration of the failed gunpowder plot of 1605 which saw an attempted attack against King James I and the House of Lords.

What started as a royal tradition the following evening and has now turned into a national holiday centuries later now known as bonfire night.

After effectively being cancelled last year due to the pandemic, you'll be pleased to know they're going ahead this year.

Here's a breakdown of some of the bonfire events taking place in Trafford this year.

Urmston Sports Club

Urmston's annual bonfire night will be going on late until 11pm.

It includes a firework display, food and drink as well as being family friendly.

Tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for under 16s.

Saturday, November 6 | Moorside Road, M14 5UU

Bowdon Cricket, Hockey & Squash Club

The 52nd annual Bowdon Bonfire will include music and a fireworks display.

There will also be a huge bonfire as well as food, drink and amusements.

Tickets are £15 for adults and £8 for children.
