Bonfires and fireworks displays in Tameside in 2021

It's that time of year again when the skies above Tameside will sparkle with fireworks.

Many parks, pubs, clubs and community centres around Tameside will be hosting their own annual bonfire and firework display in commemoration of the failed November 5 gunpowder plot.

This plot was carried out by Guy Fawkes and was an attempt to blow up the House of Lords and kill King James I.

Bonfire Night celebrations started that fateful evening in 1605 when the royals celebrated foiling the plot.

This tradition has gone down in British history and has become its own holiday filled with bonfires and fireworks.

Here's a breakdown of the organised displays taking place in Tameside in 2021.

Denton West Cricket Club

The fireworks at Denton West Cricket Club go on for a whole 20 minutes, alongside a huge bonfire.

There's also a funfair, stalls, hot food and bars outside and in.
