Human bones found in Hale Conservation Park at Williamstown, north-east of Adelaide

A search for evidence is underway after human remains were found in a South Australian park this afternoon.

A person walking through Hale Conservation Park on Warren Road spotted the remains at about 1:15pm on Tuesday.

The cause of death is unknown.

Hale Conservation Park is located at Williamstown, around 40km north-east of Adelaide.

Local police have now blocked off the area as investigations are underway.

Police remained on scene throughout the night but began a search with State Emergency Services SA on Wednesday morning. 

Anyone with information is being urged to contact police.
