Bondi Beach rescue after 18-year-old falls 8m down cliff face, suffers head and spinal injuries

An 18-year-old has been winched to safety after falling 8 metres down a cliff face at Bondi Beach overnight.

Officers were called to a rock platform below Ben Buckler Reserve at North Bondi Beach about 10:50pm on Saturday night after reports someone had fallen off the rocks.

Police were told the man was attempting to access a rock platform at the top on the cliff area when he slipped and fell.

Rescue services quickly mobilised, with the police rescue squad, PolAir, NSW Ambulance paramedics and the NSW Ambulance helicopter crew called to the scene.

Dramatic footage shows paramedics treating the man at the scene, calling out to the rescue helicopter that was hovering overhead.

They were able to stabilise the 18-year-old and he was airlifted to St George Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

He suffered head and spinal injuries from the fall.
