Bond 25: Prince Charles 'offered role' alongside Daniel Craig in new 007 film

Another member of the royal family is said to have been offered a role in a high-profile film.

According to reports, Prince Charles has been offered the opportunity to appear in Bond 25.

The idea is thought to have originated after Britain's heir to the throne visited the film's Pinewood set.

If the cameo comes off, he wouldn't be the first royal to appear on screen alongside Bond. In 2012, the Queen appeared accompanied Daniel Craig's 007 in a short clip filmed for London's opening of the Olympic Games.

“They loved the buzz around the Queen’s appearance alongside Daniel Craig and think Charles could top even that,” a source told The Sun on Sunday.

“He is the epitome of everything British, perfect for a cameo role and Bond fans worldwide would absolutely love it.”

The same source said that if Charles, who is "considering" the appearance, turns down the offer, producers would try to sort it so Prince William and Harry could cameo.

The Princes filmed cameos as Stormtroopers in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but their appearance was edited out because they were considered too tall.

It was recently revealed that Bond 25 cast member Lashana Lynch will be introduced as the first female 007 in what is being described as a “pivotal” scene.

A film insider said she’ll be tasked with tracking Craig’s character and bringing him out of retirement for a new mission.

After several delays, Bond 25 will be released in April 2020.
