Bond 25: Cast of Daniel Craig's final James Bond outing revealed

The cast of Daniel Craig’s final Bond film has been revealed.

Details of the next 007 release – which will be directed Cary Joji Fukunaga – have officially been unveiled at creator Ian Fleming’s estate in Jamaica, giving fans a taste of what to expect in the forthcoming outing for the British spy.

Craig will star alongside returning cast member Léa Seydoux, who’ll reprise the role of Madeleine Swann. She debuted in 2015 film Spectre.

Also returning is Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny, and Ben Whishaw as Q. Rory Kinnear and Jeffrey Wright will also be back.

New cast members include Bohemian Rhapsody Oscar-winner Rami Malek, Game Night star Billy Magnussen, David Dencik, Dali Benssalah, Ana de Armas and Captain Marvel breakout Lashana Lynch.

Malek confirmed the rumours that he’ll play the film’s villain, warning that he’s going to give the spy a tough time of it for his 25th outing.

Fukunaga replaced Danny Boyle as director in November and has spent the past few months rewriting the script that reportedly ruffled up feathers over at Eon Productions.

Producer Barbara Broccoli said: “Bond is not on active service when we start – he’s enjoying himself in Jamaica. We consider it Bond’s spiritual home. He starts his journey here – we’ve built an extraordinary house for him. We’ve got quite a ride in store for Mr Bond.”

Fukunaga also confirmed some scenes had already been filmed in Norway.

The listing for the event, which was broadcast in the UK on Sky Cinema, read: “James Bond is back for his 25th big screen outing. Check out the movie’s exciting official announcement, including the cast and title reveal.”

Ahead of the film’s launch, fans were urged to ask the cast questions on social media in the lead up to the reveal, suggesting that the film’s actors will be on hand during the announcement. Bond 25, which had the working title Shatterhand, will be released on 8 April 2020.
