Bon Jovi star's kids shame him for outlandish outfits from his 80s heyday

In their 80s heyday, Bon Jovi were famed for their garish outfits as much as their anthemic music.

It was unforgettable.... because their children just won’t let them live it down.

“Our kids get the old pictures out. And, when they were younger, they would send me a picture a day,” laughs keyboard player David Bryan.

“I said, ‘When you are older, I’ll send you all your pictures.’”

Speaking to the Mirror ahead of their gig at Anfield on Wednesday, David added: “At the time, we were cool – although you look back now and go, I don’t know.”

So will some of the more outlandish outfits be making a comeback? It’s all cyclical, jokes David: “It will all come around again every 20 years.”

At the high-octane show in Liverpool’s legendary stadium, fans were treated to classic hits including Bad Medicine and Lay Your Hands.

The day before, Jon paid a visit to Sir Paul McCartney’s childhood home, on the Beatle’s 77th birthday. During the show, Jon told the crowd: “It’s been a long time coming back to Liverpool.

“Last time was for the Royal Variety Performance. Yesterday was another royal birthday – Sir Paul McCartney’s.”

The band play Wembley Stadium tomorrow night and Coventry’s Ricoh Arena next week.
