Bombing suspect threatened to blow up Florida building

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. _ Suspected mail bomber Cesar Sayoc Jr. once threatened to blow up a Florida Power & Light building.

Sayoc called FPL in 2002 and said he would blow up its building on West Flagler Street in Miami if the power company turned off his power, police said.

The explosion would be "worse than 9-11," he said.

For that crime, he received one year of probation.

Here are some of his other arrests, according to law enforcement records:

1991: Grand theft in Broward County. He was give two years' probation and paid $1,612.

1992: Shoplifting in Miami-Dade County.

1994: Domestic abuse against a spouse, a civil filing.

2004: Twice for possession and sale of steroids. He was sentenced to 18 months' probation.

2009: A criminal traffic violation _ driving without a license.

2014: Shoplifting in Miami-Dade County.
