Bomber approved by DWP, new city 'landmark' and penthouse with seaside views

Good morning, these are the latest ECHO headlines today.

Liverpool Women's bomber was approved by DWP despite not having right to stay in UK

The terrorist whose homemade bomb detonated outside Liverpool Women’s Hospital was granted a National Insurance number four years after having his first bid for asylum rejected.

The Department for Work and Pensions approved Emad Al Swealmeen’s application even though years earlier it was ruled he could not stay in the UK.

The decision could have made it easier for him to build the lifestyle that allowed him to plot and fund the ball bearing-filled device that came close to killing expectant mums and their babies.

The ECHO can reveal Al Swealmeen was handed a National Insurance number by the DWP in November 2019.
