Bombed out church to celebrate Valentine’s Day with movie showings

The Bombed out Church is set to celebrate Valentine's Day with the showing of a range of movies.

The open-air cinema is back by popular demand and over the 10th-14th of February, it is offering guests the chance to see multiple films from different genres with a fully stocked bar nearby.

The church has made a name for itself for hosting an array of events from weddings to theatre productions.

After successfully hosting more than 200 events and community projects last year, St Luke's is preparing for another jam-packed year.

Co-director of St Luke's, Kate Jones, explained: "It was incredible to see so many people walk through our doors last year. Due to conversations with our visitors, we’re happy to announce that we'll be hosting film screenings for February.

"We've gone with a couple of recommendations by the public for these ones too. 2022 is set to be another year of welcoming familiar and new faces to St Luke’s, we can't wait.”

To celebrate LGBT+ History month, Pride, a much-loved historical comedy-drama based on a true story will be showing on Thursday 10 February.

What follows next is the showing of Romeo and Juliet on the Friday, The Bodyguard featuring Whitney Houston on the Saturday and Casablanca on the Monday.

Visitors will enjoy a film in the heart of the city with boozy hot drinks, beers, spirits, wine and soft drinks on tap.

Audience members are encouraged to bring their own blankets to keep them cosy in the charming setting.
