Bombay Times Fashion Week Finale was a spectacle to behold

Day 3 of the Bombay Times Fashion Week ended on a high note with experimental yet sultry designs and showstoppers being their comfortable self on the stage.

The 3rd day runway extravaganza was a successful catwalk event for a series of designers showcasing their forthcoming collections. The fashion fraternity of Mumbai city flooded their social media posts with a high-spirited, much celebrated fashionable weekend visiting the venue, meeting and greeting friends and family coming from a similar walk of life. Some trends were catching an all-around festive vibe whereas others were giving out feels of vivid, retro, tropical lines of wilderness with luscious colours, bold florals and foliage, unusual textured effects on vivid greens & vibrant yellows, with alluring accents in blues, reds, and aqua-teal tints with peachy pinks.

Creativity is challenged once the resources become limited. This time around, brands have responded to the challenging times in a different way. While some catered to the changing winds of work from home ideas, others pandered to create enthusiasm amidst the gloom, shifting back from digital fashion weeks into reality. It was about embracing these changed equations as the industry is slowly understanding how to live with the pandemic effects and the spirit: “the show must go on”. With the forthcoming season focusing on the buyer’s supply basket – the ones who are tech-savvy and unafraid to make online shopping choices with a few quick clicks on the screens – every show and collection did their best to drop some festive shopping goals in their carts.

The finale had a ripple effect of accomplishment. Created by designer Payal Singhal as her latest Winter Festive 21 Bridal Collection, ‘Suroor’ just got so real on stage with the golden era of elegance accompanied by the fusion of Sufi music mashups that teased the senses of love and beauty. At first glance at the beginning of the 3rd day, label AARI allured the onlookers with gorgeous pastel colours in their stunning line “Lehr”. This was followed by a concept depicting crossroads of opulent weaves and minimalist patterns created by Meghashrey and being donned by the social entrepreneur Seema Singh. The contemporary twist of Kshitij Choudhary’s artistic composition set in jewel tones, enhanced ruffled sleeves and tops with vibrant Indian attires was accentuated even more by the showstopper Gauahar Khan.

It seemed that red knew its right address on Day 3 as the colour seized the opportunity to shine by ASRA’s dreamy corset gowns. The designer’s collection “Robe De Reine” was full of fine lacework and dolled-up women looking perfect in red hues. Adding another impeccable element to this day was that SR Queens merged with the creators and had all Mrs India contestants grace the stage. Streax Hair Colour partnered with the whimsical senses of designer Rocky Star where the showstopper Vaani Kapoor embraced her most comfortable and hyper-sexy look. The show closed on a combining note and contrast between a renaissance pirate-type style and trinity characteristics of the collab.
