Bomb squad swoop on Glasgow house after explosive found

A man has been arrested after a bomb squad carried out a controlled explosion at a property in Glasgow.

Police raced to Liddesdale Square in the Milton area after the alarm was raised last night.

Officers discovered items inside of the property during the raid and sealed off part of the street.

A 42-year-old man was arrested.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police Scotland carried out a search at an address in Liddesdale Square, Glasgow, on Wednesday night, 10 June, as part of an ongoing enquiry.

"Officers found items which required EOD assessment and the area was cordoned off as a precaution.

"EOD attended and the items were safely removed before a controlled explosion was carried out.

"A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection.

"Officers remain in attendance at the property."
