A bomb found in a Glasgow river, reported to have been a grenade, has been removed by specialist cops.
The bomb squad officers were called to a report of an ordnance found in the River Clyde at Dalmarnock bridge in Glasgow's East End, Glasgow Live reports.
A police cordon and diversions were put in place to let experts examine the area with the busy road closed.
Emergency crews raced to the scene at around 12.40pm as the suspected bomb was seen in the water.
Social media reports have said a grenade was discovered but this is yet to be confirmed by police.
The device was removed by officers with the road reopened at around 4pm.
A Police Scotland spokesperson told Glasgow Live: "Around 12.40pm on Wednesday, 15 December, officers were called to a report of ordnance found in the water at Dalmarnock bridge on Dalmarnock Road.
“Officers and Explosive Ordnance Disposal and the item has been safely removed. The road has since reopened.”
