Bomb squad called to Aberdeen street for second time in one week amid 'ongoing incident'

Bomb disposal squads have been called to a street in Aberdeen for the second time in a week.

Police and Explosive Ordnance Disposal units raced to King Street on Friday night to deal with an 'ongoing incident'.

It comes just days after a 26-year-old man was charged on Monday after the recovery of a "number of chemicals" at a property on King Street on Saturday.

A cordon was put in place around the property in question.

Residents in the surrounding area were temporarily moved temporarily to alternative accommodation.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We are in attendance with EOD at an ongoing incident in King Street, Aberdeen.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
