Bomb scare at Amazon depot in Dunfermline as cops probe suspicious package amid evacuation

An Amazon delivery centre in Fife has been evacuated and the explosive experts called in after a suspicious package was found.

Police rushed to the storage facility in Dunfermline at around 5.30pm today and cleared the building.

Roads blocks have been put in place around the area as emergency services wait for a specialist bomb disposal teams to arrive.

It’s believed that workers due to begin shifts at the site this evening have been told not to come in.

Cops confirmed a bomb disposal unit was en route to the scene.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 5.30pm police received a report of a suspicious package found within the Amazon depot in Dunfermline.

"Emergency services are in attendance and the building has been evacuated, and a cordon put in place.

"EOD will attend to inspect the package and enquiries are ongoing."
