Bomb disposal squad called in after suspicious device discovered in north Dublin street

A bomb disposal squad has been called in after a suspect device was discovered on a north Dublin street.

Gardai attended the scene on Woodbine Drive in Raheny following the reports of the suspicious device earlier today, Wednesday, July 28.

The area was cordoned off and the army explosive ordnance disposal was called.

The device was deemed non-viable by the EOD after examination.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: “ Gardai attended property on Woodbine Drive following reports of the discovery of a suspicious device this afternoon, Wednesday 28th July 2021.

“The area was cordoned off and the army EOD were requested. An examination of the device by the EOD discovered the device was non-viable.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
