Bolton Wanderers transfer deadline day update as at least two signings due to be announced

Two new signings are due to be announced by Bolton Wanderers with the club working on another couple of incomings on transfer deadline day.

The Trotters have until 11pm this evening to add to their squad for the rest of the League Two campaign.

Wanderers have already added four new players to the squad this window in the form of Kieran Lee, Zack Elbouzedi, Ben Jackson and Declan John.

Two signings are due to be announced in due course, a goalkeeper and a midfielder, with two players in the forward areas of the pitch the deals which are being worked on.

Evatt said: "At the moment we’ve got two ins but they will be released in due course. I would think we’re hopeful of possibly another two, so there’s possibly four incomings at the end of the day.

“One of those is a goalkeeper, one of those is a midfield player and the other two, if I can get them over the line, will be in the forward areas of the pitch.”

In terms of outgoings today at the UniBol, up to three players could be leaving, one of whom being a loan player returning to his parent club.

That could be either Tom White or Billy Crellin, given neither player have had much game time of late on loan from Blackburn Rovers and Fleetwood Town.

Speculation has suggested too that George Taft could be moving to Scunthorpe United on a permanent deal.

Evatt said: "Outgoings, things are still developing. There’s probably one definite permanent away, one returning to his parent club and discussions ongoing at the moment with another potential exit. That’s where we’re at, at the minute.”

With the two players Evatt is still hoping to get over the line, one is described as a 'maverick' by the Wanderers boss and one the Bolton manager will be 'extremely happy' to get over the line.

The other signing is a younger player who the Trotters want to sign on loan from a Premier League club, with a view to making the addition permanent over the summer.

Evatt said: "One is taking a bit of work and he’s one that I’ve spoke about before, but he is a real maverick and if we can get it over the line, I’ll be extremely happy. That’s taking a bit of work but things are certainly heading in the right direction.

"The other one is more of a younger player but not really young, but from a Premier league club for us really to take him on loan for the rest of the season, but with the option of taking him permanently in the summer to develop and further develop his career.

"One is more experienced and a maverick, the other one is more looking at him for the rest of this season and for next.”
