Bolton Wanderers 'proactive' and 'looking ahead' to January transfer window for both ins and outs

Bolton Wanderers are being 'proactive' ahead of the January transfer window and have in mind about what business can be done in terms of both incomings and outgoings, Ian Evatt has said.

The next opportunity to bring in new players will present itself in under a month when the window opens on January 2.

Wanderers brought in more than 20 new players either permanently or on loan over the summer as Evatt helped to craft a new look squad at the University of Bolton Stadium.

But with a month to go until the window opens again, work is well under way on the transfer front an identifying those who could be available to come in - as well as those who could move on to pastures new.

Evatt has previously confirmed there is room within the budget and salary cap to bring in new arrivals and the Bolton boss feels the squad is 'three or four light' in terms of bringing in fresh players.

But the Bolton boss has reiterated that Wanderers will conduct transfer business in a responsible way to ensure the Trotters are kept sustainable.

He said: “We are proactive. We’re already looking ahead to the window and what’s available and what’s not and where we can do some business in terms of ins and outs.

"The most important thing for me is we try and improve the team, but first and foremost, we keep the club sustainable and we don’t overspend and gamble.

"We want to make sure we look after this football club moving forwards and that’s what we’ll be doing."
