Bolton Wanderers predicted starting team vs Barrow as Toal to play and Sadlier in contention

Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt has confirmed Eoin Toal will play this evening against Barrow.

Central defender Toal has made two starts for Wanderers since his summer transfer window move from Derry City. Both of these have come in the Papa Johns Trophy against Crewe Alexandra and Tranmere Rovers.

He is poised to make his third appearance for the club this evening when Wanderers take on the Bluebirds in the same competition. The victors of the 7.45pm kick-off at the University of Bolton Stadium will seal passage to the last 16.

With no game this coming weekend owing to Wanderers being knocked out of the FA Cup and the second round taking place, Evatt does not have to be concerned about fatigue for a Saturday game. The Whites are next in League One action after this evening on Friday, December 2, when they host Bristol Rovers in League One.

With that in mind, Wanderers could start James Trafford as goalkeeper again, though Joel Dixon is also in contention. The back three could see Toal in the middle of the back three, flanked on each side by Gethin Jones on the right and Jack Iredale on the left.

The wing-backs could line up as Liverpool loanee Conor Bradley on the right flank. Declan John could come into the team in place of Owen Beck, who impressed over the weekend in the victory over Fleetwood Town.

In central midfield, with Kieran Lee to be assessed, Evatt could bring in Josh Sheehan to central midfield and could be partnered by Aaron Morley, with George Thomason and MJ Williams also options. In the number 10 role, new dad Kieran Sadlier could be rewarded with a start after his positive impact off the bench in the win over the Cod Army.

Upfront, Dapo Afolayan could once again partner Dion Charles in a strike partnership. Amadou Bakayoko is unavailable after being on international duty with Sierra Leone, with Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Elias Kachunga other options.

Bolton Wanderers predicted starting team vs Barrow: Trafford; Jones, Toal, Iredale; Bradley, Morley, Sheehan, John; Sadlier; Afolayan, Charles.
