Bolton Wanderers player ratings vs Stockport County - Afolayan impressive and Isgrove good

Joel Dixon - 7

Generally solid with possession out of defence, but perhaps could have done better with opening goal from Scott Quigley but made great stop from Paddy Madden before the break.

Lloyd Isgrove - 8

Went into the book early on for fouling Ollie Crankshaw but otherwise a good performance at right-back and notched assist for Doyle. Great threat down the right throughout.

Ricardo Santos - 7

Not helped by Thomason for County's first goal but was generally solid throughout. Booked for foul onm Quigley before the break.

Alex Baptiste - 7

Good on the ball generally but failed to track Whitfield for County's second goal. Fairly solid throughout and not afraid to get forward to support attacks.

Declan John - 6

Got forward well from left back but was replaced at the break by Liam Gordon.

MJ Williams - 7

Solid in possession as per usual from holding midfielder who was once again the one to get things going for Wanderers in the middle.

Kieran Lee - 8

Came into the team for the injured Josh Sheehan and always looked bright in the middle of the park for Wanderers in possession

George Thomason - 7

Mistake in possession led to Stockport's opening goal with short pass, but actually recovered well from early error to have solid game in the middle before being taken off.

Elias Kachunga - 7

Bright performance from attacker who got his first goal for Wanderers. Was booked after the break and replaced by Bakayoko before the end.

Eoin Doyle - 7

Clinical finish from striker to get Wanderers back into cup tie and good energy and pressing throughout.

Dapo Afolayan - 9

One of the big threats for Bolton throughout the encounter. Pass helped led to Doyle's goal, while saved shot was later put away by Kachunga. Outstanding throughout.

Substitutes

Liam Gordon - 6

Made a good contribution after coming on at the break, with some decent crosses at times.

Nathan Delfouneso - 6

Was allowed to roam across the final third to affect play.

Amadou Bakayoko - 5

Came on for Kachunga and partnered Doyle upfront. But little time to make much impact.
