Bolton Wanderers player ratings vs Shrewsbury Town: Adam Senior and Reiss Greenidge good

Billy Crellin - 5

Didn't have much to do in the first half apart from pick the ball out of his goal twice. A loose ball to Riley after the break was nearly punished with a third goal.

Adam Senior - 7

First start of the season for the youngster and put in a decent performance and was not afraid to carry the ball forward into midfield. Got the final touch for Wanderers' goal.

Ryan Delaney - 6

Only one of two players to keep their place in the team from the win over Harrogate on Saturday and was solid, but was brought off at half-time.

George Taft - 5

Played a wayward ball across the back three which was instantly punished by Barnett for the opening goal. Went close to scoring at the other end with a header.

Jak Hickman - 6

Energetic down the right wing as usual and grew into the game as it progressed. Had a great chance to level just before full-time.

Tom White - 5

Missed a first half penalty before his evening was ended prematurely by Josh Vela's heavy challenge and had to limp off.

Brandon Comley - 6

Was otherwise fairly tidy in possession for much of the encounter and coped relatively well with Shewsbury's pressing against him.

Liam Gordon - 7

A threat going forwards down the left for Wanderers at Montgomery Waters Meadow and one of Bolton's most potent threats in the first half.

Arthur Gnahoua - 6

Won the penalty which White later missed, but should really have brought Wanderers back on level terms before then.

Finlay Lockett - 5

Started through the middle but struggled to make much of an impact in the game and was replaced by Mascoll.

Ronan Darcy - 6

Played on the left hand side of a front three but also drifted centrally to try and affect play. Put in the free kick which Bolton scored from.

Substitutes

Regan Riley - 6

Came on for the injured White and put in a decent performance, aside from his part in the second goal. Plenty of energy and enthusiasm.

Reiss Greenidge - 7

Returned from injury in the second half and was not afraid to make a challenge. Nearly scored with a looping header and caused problems when forward for set pieces.

Jamie Mascoll - 6

Replaced Lockett and had one of the late chances which Wanderers created.
