Made smart stop with feet from Matty Daly but rarely troubled in first half. Denied Tom Crawford after the break but massive error which lead to key goal which separated two teams.
Marlon Fossey - 7.5
Fulham loanee handed debut and showed real pace on the right flank and got in behind Hartlepool several times. An impressive first start and showing.
Ricardo Almeida Santos - 7
Wanderers captain rarely beaten in one on one duels and distributed the ball well. Was booked in second half for bringing down Matty Daly.
George Johnston - 7.5
Back in his familiar role of central defence and looked decent, as well not being afraid to come out with the ball.
Declan John - 5.5
Got forward on occasions in the first half but delivery from set pieces could certainly have been better.
MJ Williams - 7.5
Key midfielder returned after Covid-19 recovery and rarely put a foot wrong in the middle of the park.
George Thomason - 7.5
Energetic midfielder was all action as always and was among those to have chances blocked. Booked in second half but otherwise a solid showing.
Nathan Delfouneso - 7
Forward played in unfamiliar central midfield position again, but looked impressive from deep and was creative, as well as getting on the end of chances.
Elias Kachunga - 7
Worked well with Fossey on the right wing and looked bright on the ball, but departed early in the second half with an injury.
Dion Charles - 7
Debut for former Accrington striker and was quiet early on but grew into game, showing moments of quality and a taste of what is to come. Replaced after an hour.
Dapo Afolayan - 6.5
Took a bit of time to get into things but looked dangerous when he did as first half drew on, seeing effort go inches wide. Had a mixed second half.

Went to the right flank after coming on. Showed great industry and energy.

Came on for Charles and worked hard as always. Saw a couple of efforts stopped.
